Euclid’s Economic Revitalization & Inclusive Outcomes Strategies Get Global Attention
When planning how to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, Euclid prioritized helping local families build wealth through businesses and supporting a thriving downtown. The City committed to implementing a twofold strategy: promote economic revitalization and inclusive outcomes by supporting local, Black- and Brown-owned, small-scale manufacturing businesses to contribute to “more energy and commerce to downtown”.
SGA Webinar Showcases Equitable Development of Brownfields
Last week, Smart Growth America (SGA) hosted a webinar as part of their ongoing series about equitable development. This webinar focused on brownfields and their redevelopment. GOPC was able to participate in this webinar and gain insight on a range is issues, including environmental justice and equity related to brownfield cleanup and reuse policy and practices.

GOPC, Lincoln Institute Release New Report on Equitable Development in Smaller Legacy Cities
The report outline seven strategies, illustrated with a diverse set of case studies, that can lay the groundwork for a city’s equitable development agenda. Strategies are tailored to the unique challenges of these small to mid-size legacy cities and also draw on their unique opportunities—such as a lack of market pressures that allows leaders more time to get plans right.
