Ohio’s Legacy City Assets

Ohio’s 22 legacy cities are full of valuable assets that provide significant economic and cultural benefits to the State. These assets help to shape the identity of each city and foster a sense of pride among residents. They contribute to Ohio’s economy through job creation and tourism.

Preserving and investing in Ohio’s legacy city regions, supports a tremendous number of Ohio institutions that contribute to Ohio’s economy and make their communities more attractive for residents, employers, and capital.

The assets mapped below include hospitals, universities/colleges/technical schools, major employers, museums, art institutions, parks, cultural and historic sites, professional sports teams, and major philanthropic organizations. While extensive, this map is not exhaustive.
